Ummm... What?

Lil Wayne, Drake, and the Young Money crew made quite a stir with their performance at the BET Awards. In front of millions of people, the artists capped off a pretty explicit song about wanting to “love every girl in the world,” by dancing on stage by a group of 10-12 year old girls. Really guys? Does it make it any less weird/pedo/awkward that one of them was Lil Wayne’s daughter? I don’t think so. And how about some Miley Cyrus shoutouts thrown in for good measure? Those were there too. The only way this performance makes sense is in the context that it was being billed: a Michael Jackson tribute. You really, really couldn’t make this stuff up.

At this weekend’s Los Angeles International Wine and Spirits Competition, rapper/producer Lil Jon was award a silver medal for his 2006 Central Coast Chardonnay. In case you hadn’t been following, Lil Jon has started producing wine in California under the name Little Jonathan Winery. “My full name is Jonathan,” says the self-proclaimed King of Crunk, “The wine is more nature: I wanted to not just have a direct connection, but make it just a little bit more upscale than regular ‘Lil Jon.’ ... This is not no ghetto Boone’s Farm; this is some real wine.”

Shaq Headed To Cleveland

Shortly after midnight yesterday, the Cleveland Cavaliers executed a blockbuster deal to acquire future Hall of Fame center Shaquille O’Neil from the Phoenix Suns, in exchange for the combination of Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic, and a second round pick in this year’s draft. This bold move unites Shaq with rising superstar and MVP LeBron James, providing what Cleveland hopes is the final piece to enable the franchise’s first NBA championship. But does the aging O’Neil still have enough in the tank to help lead a deep postseason run? Is this move enough to give them the edge against their rivals in Orlando and Boston?

Celtics Trade Rumor

In NBA news, Danny Ainge, GM of the Boston Celtics, has reportedly offered the combo of Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo to the Pistons for Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, and Rodney Stuckey. While this would help Detroit acquire the valuable expiring contract of Allen and the young star of Rondo, it would come at the expense of their three best players, leaving Joe Dumars, GM of the Pistons, to deny the trade immediately.

In an act that some on Wall Street have lauded as an example of "smart and responsible investing" in light of recent woes, rapper Plies threw $50,000 worth of cash into the audience at a show in Atlanta. The act fit nicely with the lyrics of his new single, "Plenty Money," and must have caused quite a stir at the show. Described one concertgoer, Plies "not only made it rain, he made it precipitate."

Recording artist Chris Brown reached a plea deal with prosecutors in the Rihanna domestic assault case. As part of the agreement, Chris Breezy receives no jail time, but does get five years of supervised probation and 180 days of community service in VA. A side note is that he must stay 50 yards away from Rihanna for those five years, unless they are at the same event, where he is allowed to stare at her from 10 yards away.

Following an alleged scuffle at a MuchMusic Video Awards afterparty, Hilton released a video claiming that he was assaulted by will.i.am, who countered saying "Perez Hilton is a liar". In related news, Molina has allegedly been contacted by Kimbo Slice's manager Bas Rutten.
